Lemon

Ah, the fresh scent of lemon! I love that it gives a clean, fresh scent when it's used.

The natural occurring chemical that gives off this wonderful citrus smell is limonene.

History of Lemon

According to some research it's been found that the lemon is a cultivated hybrid deriving from wild species such as the citron and mandarin. The citron seems to have been the first citrus fruit known in the Mediterranean world. {source}

Use of Lemon Oil and Properties

Lemons can naturally help the body detox. It can be used to help prevent the symptoms of getting sick. It also helps decrease the natural oils from your skin. It tastes great in water.

When I'm feel like I'm getting sick, I will add a drop to salt water and gargle. This helps to draw out whatever is trying to attack my body.

I also like to add a drop into my glass a water for refreshing drink.

Lemon essential oil also had antiseptic properties, which can be put to use to clean tables and other surfaces in your home.

It is also a natural mood lifter, as is with most citrus'. If you're feeling down, just take in a breath of lemon and it will lift your spirits.

How is it Processed?

Lemon essential oil is extracted from the peel of the fruit. The peel is cold pressed/ expressed.
